If you have Gate 22 active in your Human Design BodyGraph, you have the ability to hold space for people as you actively listen, giving them your full attention. This allows others to feel empowered to change and transform. It is important to know that you can only access this energy when you are in a good place within your own emotional wave. When you feel good you can make even strangers feel safe to be vulnerable because of your graciousness. When you don’t feel good you can be withdrawn and anti-social. This is how you maintain your own integrity and take care not to negatively impact others and stay empowered yourself.
If your Personality Sun is in Gate 22, your Incarnation Cross will either be the Right Angle Cross of Rulership 1, the Juxtaposition Cross of Grace, or the Left Angle Cross of Informing 1.

The energy of the Human Design Gate 22 Sun transit, in the Gate of Openness, is all about is all about being open to interacting with others… or not. Gate 22 is associated with social grace and allowing others to feel empowered to change and transform. This energy is part of an emotional wave of the Solar Plexus and it operates through highs and lows. With this transit, you may be charming and social or withdrawn and antisocial. It is the awareness to provoke social openness (or not!) and it all depends on your mood.
This energy is part of Individual Circuitry and sharing your individual spirit with others. You might notice others are more interested in interacting and excited to socialize during this time. These social situations can be powerful with this energy all around you. Remember, that impact can be in a higher or lower expression depending on how well each person is honoring their moods and maintaining their integrity in expressing themselves. There can be a lot of feelings rising to the surface to be shared during this week, especially by individuals with hanging Gate 12 in their Throat Center.
In the higher expression, Gate 22 energy is inspiring and empowering. You have the ability to offer grace to yourself and others. There is an awareness that the entire emotional spectrum contains beauty, and the messiness of life is simply part of humanity. In the lower expression, this can be the energy that leads you to believe you, or others, aren’t deserving of grace. You may repress your emotions or lose your temper and become emotionally reactive. This can also look like not taking responsibility for your emotions and, instead, blaming others or feeling victimized. If you force yourself to be social during these times or act impulsively or impatiently, you can create chaos in your life and the lives of those around you.
With this energy activated, you might experience fear in the form of nervousness; nervousness that others won't listen to you, that the right people aren't around to converse with, or that there is nothing worthwhile to listen to in order to provide growth and transformation. You may also struggle with the desire to speak in a way that articulates and empowers others with the depth of your emotional spirit, especially if you don't have Gate 12 active in your Throat Center. As an Individual Gate, melancholy can also be felt during this transit. Gate 22 is associated with the left ear and melancholy with Gate 22 presents as feeling there is nothing worth listening to. There can be a perception that there is a lack of engaging conversations to stimulate your mind and emotions, and you may experience deep sadness that there are no meaningful ideas or content to listen to from others.
This background frequency gives you the potential to be emotionally present for others as they share their deep truth. You may even find this occurring when it comes to interacting with strangers. Honor your own moods and the moods of those around you. Don’t pressure them to move past how they are feeling. Trust that everyone’s emotions are valid, and it is better to accept them instead of pushing them down. The energy of the Sun in Gate 22 is grounded by the Earth in Gate 47 which drives us to attempt to make sense of our current circumstances by relating it to our past experiences and interactions with others.
This transit brings creative energy that comes deep from within, and you might feel the need to express yourself in a way that is uniquely your own. It has the potential to be deeply emotional and dramatic. You may find yourself more drawn to music, dance, poetry, or art to help you process what you are feeling. Remember, with this energy activated, not to make decisions from a place of high or low emotions. Timing and patience are everything. Check in with yourself to be sure you are following your Strategy and Authority before taking action or making commitments.
